Time to choose your CTP insurer
Vehicle owners in South Australia are about to get a choice of CTP insurers. During the 3-year transition from the MAC to four private insurers, owners were randomly allocated an insurer. From 1 July 2019, they must choose a CTP insurer based on price and service. Read more
End of Motor Accident Commission in sight
Insurers AAMI, Allianz, QBE and SGIC provide compulsory third party insurance in South Australia. Before July 2016, the Motor Accident Commission (MAC) was regulator and insurer of the CTP scheme. South Australian police caught 608 drug drivers and 131 drunk drivers last year for their third or more offence in five years. Now Parliament has passed a law that forces all repeat drink or drug drivers to go straight to rehab. Read more

mySA GOV replacing EzyReg
SA motorists who usually use an EzyReg account to do their transactions must now use mySA GOV. It’s part of the plan to put all transactions with the SA government in the same place with one login. The app will store all your information digitally and safely. Also, it will send you vehicle registration reminders so you don’t have to worry about forgetting again.

Review of Lifetime Support and CTP schemes in SA
The South Australian government is reviewing the Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS) and 2013 reforms to the CTP scheme. First of all, the reviewing committee invited submissions from interested parties by 27 April 2017.
